Marjan
Forest parks Marjan are the city's lungs. This hilly nature reserve offers trails through fragrant pine forests to scenic lookouts, medieval chapels and cave dwellings once inhabited by Christian hermits. Saint Dujam and Peristil
Catholic chatedral of Saint Domnius ,or locally "Saint Dujam" is formed from mausoleum of the roman emperor.Consists of a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary,and a bell tower Saint Domnius.Together they form cathedral,which is regarded as the oldest catholic chatedral in the world,in use in its original structures.
In front of chatedral is Peristil,which is central square of the palace.In 13/14 th century became a religious centre,and after that,in future,ideal theatre scenery,because of unusual acoustics.
The temple of Jupiter is temple dedicated to the Jupiter,ancient roman god of sky and thunder,and king of the gods.It is located in western part of palace,near Peristil.The temple was built from 295 until 305.,and turned into baptistery of St. John the Baptist in the 6 th century.In front of the temple is one of the twelve sphinxes from Egypt.
Riva - seaside promenade
The Riva is a hub of movement, and at the same time a place to sit, contemplate, or chat and drink, Over the sea, the islands of Brac and Solta lie in full view of seafront promenade.Standing in front of Diocletian’s Palace, the crystal waters sparkle,with an ever changing scenery as yachts, ferries and the tiny fishing boats ply in and out of their moorings.Today this promenade is the cities living room, the most popular and most important public place in Split.
